Entrance/Exit Loan Counseling Information


Entrance Interview Counseling

Students are required to complete a one-time Entrance Loan Counseling Interview if they are going to receive financial aid in the form of federal loans (this includes Federal Perkins, Stafford Subsidized, Stafford Unsubsidized, or Nursing loans).

Students must also submit a Master Promissory Note to each individual lender they receive a loan from, whether it is a federal or non-federal loan.

Exit Interview Counseling

Students are required to complete an Exit Loan Counseling Interview if they have received financial aid in the form of federal loans (this includes Federal Perkins, Stafford Subsidized, Stafford Unsubsidized, or Nursing loans) and one of the following situations has occurred:

  • The student's semester credit hours drop below half-time
  • The student graduates (Spring graduates must attend the Grad Finale held in March of each year)
  • The student withdraws from a semester

Students should return their Entrance Loan Counseling and Master Promissory Notes material for Federal Perkins and Nursing Loans to Tammy Ross at NDSU Customer Account Services in 101 Old Main, 701-231-7329.

If for any reason you do not receive billing information from the Student Loan Service Center, it is your responsibility to notify the SLSC and make the scheduled payments.
