Pell Grant

What is it?

Grant assistance for undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree and demonstrate exceptional need.

Will I have to pay it back?

No. This award does not have to be repaid.

What do I do after I accept my award?

Because your disbursed Pell amount is based on your enrollment status at a specified time and date as published in the Registration Schedule, plan your registration accordingly.



Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

What is it?

Grant assistance for undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half time and demonstrate exceptional financial need. Priority is given to Pell Grant recipients.

Will I have to pay it back?

No. This award does not have to be repaid.

What do I do after I accept my award?

To receive this grant, you must be enrolled at least half-time.



Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

What is it?

Federal grant assistance available for undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens, elegible non-citizens, Pell Grant-eligible, enrolled at least half-time, have completed a rigorous high school program, completed less than 60 credits and demonstrate exceptional need upon completion of the FAFSA. Students who receive the second year ACG award must have a 3.00 or greater when they complete their freshman year.

No. This award does not have to be repaid.

What do I do after I accept my award?

Because your ACG grant is based on full-time enrollment at a specified time and date as published in the Registration Schedule, plan your registration accordingly.

National SMART Grant

What is it?

Federal grant assistance available for undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens, Pell Grant-eligible, enrolled at least half-time, enrolled in an eligible major (physical, life or computer sciences; mathematics; technology; engineering; or in a foreign language determined critical to national security), have completed 60 or more credits and demonstrate exceptional need upon completion of the FAFSA. Students must also have a 3.00 or greater cumulative GPA.

No. This award does not have to be repaid.

What do I do after I accept my award?

Because your SMART grant is based on full-time enrollment at a specified time and date as published in the Registration Schedule, plan your registration accordingly.

TEACH Grant

What is it?

Through the College Cost Reduction Act, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach full-time in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low income families.

Will I have to pay it back?

If you fail to complete the 4 year teaching obligation within 8 years of completing or ceasing your program of study, your grant will convert to an Unsubsidized Stafford Loan which will have to be repaid with interest accrued from the date the grant funds were first disbursed. Once a TEACH Grant is converted to a loan, it cannot be converted back to a grant.
