Tips to Improve Your Grade Point Average

  1. The quickest way to improve your grade point average is to retake the courses in which you did poorly.

  2. Do not overload your schedule - take 12 to 15 credits.

  3. Talk to your instructors or academic advisor - especially if you are struggling in a course.

  4. Ask your instructors and departments about tutors, study groups, and other resources.

  5. Enroll in EDUC 123: Study Skills (1 credit).

  6. Take 100 or 200 numbered courses if you are a freshman or sophomore.

  7. If you are doing poorly in a course and you have exhausted all other options, drop the course before the drop deadline.

  8. Reduce the number of hours of employment.

  9. Plan to study approximately 3 hours for every credit registered.
