North Dakota Autism Center - Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Needed ASAP!

The North Dakota Autism Center is currently hiring for part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for the summer and into the school year! A great job for college students with limited availability! If you care deeply about individuals and families impacted by a variety of developmental disabilities, this is the job for you. At the North Dakota Autism Center, Inc. we pay for your training and certifications.

Shifts consist of day, evening, weekends, or overnights but are flexible to meet your schedules.

$16.50 - $18.50/hour depending on experience.

Job duties for a Direct Support Professional include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work both as a team and alone, to complete tasks as instructed, be receptive to new ideas and be creative in helping to solve problems.
  • Believe that everyone can, and must have an opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their level of ability or diagnosis.
  • Provide thorough documentation (goals, shift notes, health changes, status changes, injuries etc.) and maintain confidentiality, responsibility, and reliability.
  • Demonstrate clear and professional verbal and non-verbal listening and communication.
  • Take initiative in communicating ideas, concerns, and challenges to management in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to strong morale and belonging within the team. Maintain a two-way dialogue with others and attend company meetings as scheduled.
  • Understand the reasoning behind key processes and adhere to policies and procedures.

Personal Care Assistant

I'm looking for a part-time in-home (Horace) direct service provider (aka personal care assistant) for this summer and during the school year (after-school, non-school days, and weekends) for my special needs 10-year-old. Responsibilities include:

    • help with functional communication and self-regulation
    • assistance with basic personal care tasks
    • transportation to and from appointments 
    • supervise and assist in recreational activities
    • general childcare and supervision

Will train. Pay is $20+/hour DOE. Weekends are optional. Need to be 18+, pass a background check, and have reliable transportation. He is a funny and pretty chill kid with some developmental delay, speech impairment, etc. and overall easy to get along with. Summer 4-H Intern

Intern with Clay County 4-H full time this summer. We deliver day camp programs and county fair showcases. Increase your skills in youth development programming: leading lessons, working with volunteers, and related office work. 

10 weeks Summer 2024, 32-40 hours per week

BIO Girls/ AmeriCorps Youth and Teen Service

BIO Girls is a non-profit organization that offers preventative programming to improve the self-esteem and mental health of adolescent girls through empowerment of the self, relationship building, and service to others.

BIO Girls is working in collaboration with AmeriCorps Strengthen ND to provide these service-focused positions. AmeriCorps will grant these members a stipend and education award.

We are seeking two collaborative, enthusiastic, skilled communicators to join the BIO Girls / AmeriCorps team. These individuals will be responsible for facilitating youth and teen programming.

Candidates should have or be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in HDFS, psychology, social work, sociology, education, or other related field and have some experience working with youth and teens, mental health training, and/or an advanced degree. The ideal candidates should be passionate about improving self-confidence, mental wellness, and body esteem in youth and teens as well as be able to communicate and relate to girls in 2nd through 11th grades.

Other skills required include:

  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others, including diverse audiences
  • Ability to lead a group to a common goal
  • Adaptability and flexibility when dealing with challenges and barriers
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • Ability to work flexible hours including daytime and evening

The successful candidates will report to the Director of Programming and Research at BIO Girls and will work 300 hours. Specific tasks include:

  • Attending training sessions in January 2024
  • Facilitating 2-3 BIO Teens (grades 6-11) programs per week in January-June, September-October 2024
    • Teach weekly lessons and lead discussion on topics such as confidence, body image, and mental wellness
    • Communicate with families and schools
    • Programs are 1-2 hours long and take place during after school hours and in the evening
  • Facilitating BIO Girls (grades 2-6) summer camp programming in June-August 2024
    • Teach daily lessons, lead small group discussion and activities, and coordinate art projects and physical activities on topics relating to life skills and self-esteem (e.g., gratitude, kindness, body image, friendships, etc.)
    • Communicate with families
    • Programs are 3 hours long and take place during the morning and afternoon

YMCA Childcare - After School Leader - Fargo, ND

The YMCA is hiring After School Leaders to work in one of our 25+ School Age Learning Centers! Our After School child care programs serve children Kindergarten - Fifth Grade. Work at a main YMCA location (Fercho YMCA or Schlossman YMCA) or directly in an elementary school. We operate after school programs out of the Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, Horace, and Harwood elementary schools.

Childcare Leader:

We have shifts available Monday-Friday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Our schedules are flexible - we will work around school schedules, other jobs, etc. to get you the hours you want! Want to work with younger kids? We also have hours available in our Early Learning Centers (working with children ages infant - age 5) between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. You will be able to indicate the age you'd like to work with on your application.

As a Childcare Leader, you will:

  • Guide the children through their daily after school routine: Welcome/Check-In, Snack Time, Homework Help, Physical Activity (Gym/Outside), Indoor Play, etc.
  • Lead the children in a variety of activities, such as arts and crafts, science experiments, gym games, etc.
  • Provide a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment that promotes active learning for each child in the program.
  • Engage in positive staff-child and staff-parent interactions at all times. Maintain clear communication with the Site Coordinator, Site Supervisor, and/or Site Director.
  • Be a professional role model for the children by presenting yourself in a confident, dignified manner.

Childcare Leader Pay & Benefits:

Work 5 days a week and earn an extra .50 cents per hour! Must be able to start no later than 2:30 p.m. to earn the extra .50 cents an hour.
