Jaylee Mattis, a pre-Radiologic Sciences major, received 3rd place in the Everyday Writing category in the W-Challenge, a writing competition sponsored by the NDSU Writing Programs. Jaylee’s winning entry was a letter composed for her Writing in the Health Professions course, explaining possible treatment options for migraine headaches, written in the voice of a primary care provider speaking to a patient. Radiologic Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, and Respiratory Care students in the Department of Allied Sciences at NDSU have the opportunity to develop communication and critical thinking skills, along with their program-specific technical skills.
