The primary focus of the Center for Writers is to help students become better writers. However, we are happy to work with faculty and staff memebers, too. Below are some services we provide, but do not hesitate to contact the CFW director, Enrico Sassi, to discuss any other writing needs.
Consultations for Your Own Writing
- Appointments: Faculty and staff can make appointments to have a 50-minute session with one of our graduate writing consultants - just register for an account and make an appointment (be sure to make your appointment in the Schedule for Graduate Students).
- Document review: Faculty are extremely busy and often do not need to develop their writing skills - they just need their document reviewed. In this case, please contact director, Enrico Sassi. Let Enrico know the purpose of the document, its length (& whether single- or double-spaced), what kind of review is needed, and the deadline. Also, attach the document or a part thereof to give an idea of your writing.
- Class presentations: The CFW runs graduate writing workshops (you can find a list on our workshops page). Our staff and consultants can also make presentations in your classrooms; these presentations can be on topics covered in our workshops or on other topics that relate to writing. To discuss possible presentations, please contact our director, Enrico Sassi.
- Intergrating writing or writing assignments in your course: CFW staff is happy to consult with you about how to use writing and writing assignments effectively in your courses. We can also help you develop scaffolded writing assignments (i.e., assignments that involve several steps over time) and rubrics for feedback and evaluation. Please contact Enrico Sassi and let him know what you are looking for.
