English, was a radio announcer and longtime promotions director for WDAY in Fargo. He was a former Fargo city commissioner and one of the founders of NDSU's Team Makers and the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame. He was added to the Hall of Fame as an honorary inductee in 1977. He was an Army World War II veteran who lived in Moorhead.
