home economics, was a volunteer and trainer for the Peace Corps, with assignments in Bolivia, India, Lesotho and Tanzania. She and her husband were later Peace Corps country directors for The Gambia. She also worked for the U.S. embassy in Africa. She lived in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
