educational administration, spent nearly 30 years as a teacher in Illinois, at the Overseas School of Rome and Fargo. He then moved to South Dakota, where he owned the French Creek Charlie’s gold panning camp. He became a well-known Black Hills historian and a recognized expert on Gen. George Custer. He lived in Custer, South Dakota.
