Being a student often means great discounts on travel. That's another reason why your college years are a great time to go abroad!

Besides the discounted prices, student tickets usually have more flexibility on travel dates, allow booking return tickets several months in advance, and are inexpensive to change if you decide to stay a little longer or head home a little early . Other tickets may seem like they offer a great price, but if they are full of restrictions may cost a lot to change.  Beware of tickets loaded with restrictions!

A local travel agent can also help with travel arrangements. Be aware that most travel agents now charge a fee of $25-50 in addition to the ticket price.

The Internet is a place to find great travel deals. If you are in doubt about a particular travel company or service, you can consult with the Office of International Programs. Although we don't know about all travel information available, we do have a good network of reliable programs and Web sites that we trust.
