INVESTING IN THE FUTURE OF ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
NDSU’s College of Engineering is not just building for today — it’s transforming for the future. The Center for Engineering and Computational Sciences is designed with innovation at the forefront. State-of-the-art multi-purpose research and learning spaces will provide the resources necessary to meet the University’s — and industry’s — evolving needs.
The Center will also give NDSU a critical edge in recruiting and retaining students, faculty, and staff who are driven by a passion for engineering and a desire to create the future of our state, region, and world.
NDSU is seeking $30 million in philanthropic support by Jan. 1, 2025, to bring the vision for the Center to life. These philanthropic dollars will be matched by $59 million in funding from the North Dakota Legislature. The College of Engineering has not had a major expansion or transformation of its facilities since the $1.6 million Ehly Hall addition in 1999, with most of the College’s current buildings being constructed in the 1960s.
“This Center for Engineering and Computational Sciences will give our students, faculty, and staff the resources they need to excel at the highest level,” Alan Kallmeyer, interim dean of the College of Engineering, said. “NDSU engineers are doing work that changes the world — and that work requires resources like dedicated space, upgraded equipment and laboratories, and dynamic tools to solve pressing problems. This new, visionary facility will be a showcase for the University, highlighting the amazing work happening within the College and putting engineering on display.”
Lead Gifts Launch Fundraising
Doosan Bobcat and Mortenson have announced significant philanthropic investments to launch fundraising efforts toward a new Center for Engineering and Computational Sciences at North Dakota State University. Both pledged $5 million, respectively, to boost early fundraising momentum and inspire others to get involved in the project that will transform NDSU’s College of Engineering.
