Teach A Herd U Course

Herd U is a summer camp program for kids in grades K-6. Led by expert instructors, this summer learning opportunity offers a diverse range of hands-on activities and sessions designed to spark creativity, learn new skills, discover interests, and foster a love of learning. With a focus on fun and interactive experiences, Herd U inspires young minds to dream big and explore the world around them.

Dates/Session Times:

June 9-12 -  8:30-11:30 A.M.  & 12:30-3:30 P.M

June 16-19 - 8:30-11:30 A.M. & 12:30-3:30 P.M. 

June 23-26 - 8:30-11:30 A.M. & 12:30-3:30 P.M. 

Position Overview: This is a temporary, contracted position. We are looking for creative and dynamic educators to serve as Lead Teachers for our summer Herd U camp for students in K-6th grade. Lead Teachers would be responsible for designing and leading engaging, hands-on week-long sessions in a topic of their choosing, fostering curiosity and a love for learning. This position is an excellent opportunity to inspire young learners in a fun, interactive and educational environment.

Lead Teacher Herd U Hours: Morning session 8:30-11:30 AM/Afternoon session 12:30-3:30 PM (Chose to work either or both sessions)

Key Responsibilities:

Session Design: Develop and plan an exciting, age-appropriate week-long session on a topic or content area of your choosing, incorporating creativity and hands-on learning. Topics can range from a variety of mediums of art, photography, technology, writing, science, crafts, languages, culture exploration, and more. If you have a hobby, passion, or favorite content unit or topic, turn it into a workshop to share with young learners.

• Facilitation: Serve as the primary facilitator during the session.• Material Preparation: Prepare, organize, and clean up materials for camp sessions and activities.• Communication: Provide relevant, appropriate feedback to learners, relay needs to assistant teachers, and share any student concerns with Herd U administrators.

• Orientation meeting: Attend one orientation meeting prior to Herd U camp

Compensation: $40 per hour or for example $1440 if you lead one 3 hour course for 3 weeks
