Spring 2025 Homeschool Registration

Hello Homeschool Families!

Registration is now available for our Spring 2025 NDSU Let’s Move in Homeschool Physical Education Program.

General Program Description

Welcome to the 13th year of NDSU’s Let’s Move in Homeschool program! The goal of this program is to provide children with enjoyable physical education lessons within emotionally and physically safe environments. This outreach service is facilitated by NDSU’s Health and Physical Education program faculty and pre-service teachers. Under faculty supervision, pre-service teachers design developmentally appropriate lessons for homeschooled children and deliver these lessons on campus.

Program fees

Our program fees are $15/child with a $30/family maximum.

Physical Education Lessons

Dr. Joe Deutsch oversees the spring physical education program. Our physical education lessons use best-practices in physical activity to help students as they develop their physical literacy through all three domains of learning (physical, cognitive, and affective). Physical education lessons are based upon the NEW 2024 North Dakota Physical Education Standards:

  • Motor Skill Development (MSD) - The learner will utilize movement skills to engage at a participant level of proficiency in a variety of physical activities.
  • Knowledge to Move (KM) The learner will apply knowledge and strategies to movement and fitness concepts.
  • Personal and Social Skills (PSS) The learner will demonstrate responsible personal and social skills with consideration for self and others.
  • Motivated to Move (MM) The learner will pursue personal and meaningful physical activity.

Class Delivery

Classes are held on Tuesdays starting February 11th and continue through April 29th (with no class on March 11th or April 1st). There are 10 total sessions. Classes will run on campus at NDSU in the Bentson Bunker Field House (BBFH) on Tuesdays 12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. and 1:15 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

**Your child’s class time and group will be determined after registration closes, as we need to make groups of similar ages in order to deliver safe and developmentally appropriate lessons. The program can accommodate approximately 80 children/semester**

Families are welcome to stay in our gym (on the stage) while children are attending class.
