How To Apply
1. Contact potential advisor(s). Choosing the right advisor is a critical part of a successful graduate career. Please use the department web-site to learn more about our faculty and their research programs. It is important that your advisor has experience and expertise in a research area you would like to pursue. Please contact individual faculty to determine if they have any opportunities for new students. Make sure to include information about your qualifications for graduate study and specific reasons why you are considering that faculty member as a potential advisor.
2. Apply to the North Dakota State University Graduate School. The application procedure for graduate school can be found here
(http://www.ndsu.edu/gradschool/prospective_students/domestic_applicants/how_to_apply/) for domestic applicants and here
(http://www.ndsu.edu/gradschool/prospective_students/international_applicants/how_to_apply/) for international applicants.
Application Deadline: International applications are due May 1 for fall semester and August 1 for spring semester. Domestic applicants should apply at least one month prior to the start of classes.
Once all the appropriate materials have been received by the Graduate School they will forward the application to the Entomology Department for review. The department will make a recommendation, but the final admission decision is the responsibility of the Dean of the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies. You will be notified by letter as soon as a decision is made.
