Research/Teaching Assistantship (RA/TA) available

Dear Candidates:

TA and RA opportunities are available to support graduate student research and to assist doctoral students in the timely completion of the dissertation and degree in our group. We encourage students with M.S. / M.E. degrees and those who are expected to have M.S. / M.E. degrees by the end of July 2015 to apply.

Our group research covers a variety of areas in the Built Environment Systems, including Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R), Indoor Air Quality, CFD, Smart Buildings, Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) of Building Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, and Thermophysical Properties Measurement of Porous Materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Self-motivated.

• Be in good academic standing, including evidence of a scholarly publication record.

• Have a good knowledge in at least one of the topics: HVAC & R, thermo-fluid (heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics), automation and control (e.g., PID control), building sciences, material sciences, and statistics. 

• Strong English written and effective English oral communication skills.

• Be proficient with some high level languages such as C, Matlab.

• Able to work with others in a multicultural environment.

Benefits:

Waived tuition; Stipend (with an increase based on research performance); Reimbursable research-related expenses (approved by supervisor).
