Welcome to news of the College of Health and Human Sciences! Through this fall semester, we are making transitions in our newly expanded college as part of the university’s NDSU Transform. We began this journey on July 1 to create new opportunities for students and meet workforce needs of the region, while preparing NDSU to meet the needs of future students.
The College of Health and Human Sciences now includes more than 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students in its various programs. We provide options in careers with expanded offerings that cover the human lifespan. Dean Emeritus Charles Peterson and I engaged in planning for these changes, with opportunities for additional interprofessional options in this new college.
Our college includes:
- Allied Sciences (Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Sciences, and Respiratory Care)
- Counselor Education (including Clinical Mental Health, School Counseling, Counselor Education and Supervision)
- Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Sciences (including Athletic Training, Dietetics, Exercise Science, Nutrition Science, Sport Management)
- Health Services
- Human Development and Family Science (including a dual degree in Elementary Education and a dual degree in Social Work)
- School of Nursing
- School of Pharmacy (including Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice)
- Public Health (including a degree in Health Services)
One thing that isn’t changing is our commitment to preparing students to become highly skilled professionals well prepared for their chosen fields. Students in our programs gain skills and experience that make a difference in the lives of others.
I am honored to serve as interim dean in this vibrant college and I welcome alumni, friends, students, prospective students, and educational partners to be part of the breadth of activities in the new college. Please reach out to share your ideas for the college and I hope to have an opportunity to meet you at future events!
Best wishes,
Dr. Ronald Werner-Wilson
Interim Dean - College of Health and Human Sciences
