Undergraduate International Student Scholarships
International Student Scholarship
New first-year and transfer undergraduate international applicants are eligible for scholarship consideration based on the following criteria. To be considered, students must meet all requirements for full or conditional admission. Awards are given based on evaluation of academic records at the time of admission to NDSU by determining the U.S. cumulative Grade Point Average (cGPA) equivalent of the applicant. Please note: NDSU does not offer full scholarships. The awards offered are partial and available for a maximum of eight (8) semesters:
- Tier 1: 3.5 - 4.0 U.S. cGPA equivalent
- $12,000 ($1,500/semester)
- Tier 2: 3.0 - 3.49 U.S. cGPA equivalent
- $8,000 ($1,000/semester)
Deadlines:
You must be admitted to NDSU by July 1 (for August start) or January 1 (for January start).
Application:
You are automatically considered for this award at the time of admission if you were admitted before the deadlines noted above. No special application is necessary to receive these guaranteed awards.
Awards for the 2025 calendar year (Spring 2025 and Fall 2025) will be listed in the NDSU Scholarship Portal as early as November 1, 2024 (keyword search: "NDSU International Spring Award" for students seeking January entrance; or "NDSU International Fall Award" for students seeking May or August entrance).
Are there other scholarships I might be eligible for?
There are other scholarships offered by NDSU that anyone can apply for after admission. These scholarships are listed in NDSU's "Academic Works" system.
Scholarships may help reduce some of your educational expenses while you are studying here. However, to obtain an I-20 from us, you must still show financial documents for the full amount needed (excluding any scholarships you may be awarded). Click here to view our Estimates of Expenses.
