Mohamed F. R. Khan, Extension sugarbeet specialist and professor of plant pathology with a joint appointment with NDSU and the University of Minnesota, received the Meritorious Service Award from the American Society of Sugar Beet Technologists. 

The award was presented at the society's biennial Feb. 26 in Clearwater, Florida. Khan was recognized for his research contributions in managing major sugarbeet diseases and helping growers manage in North Dakota, Minnesota and other sugarbeet producing areas of the United States.
