Derek Lehmberg, assistant professor of management, and Chanchai Tangpong, professor of management, are being honored by the Academy of Management. Their co-written paper, "New CEOs in Turnaround Situations: What to Do or Not to Do in Their First Year?” was awarded the academy's Strategizing, Activities and Practices Division Best Practice-Oriented Paper for the year.
They will be recognized at the Academy of Management's 75th annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Aug. 11.
Derek G. Lehmberg earned a bachelor's degree at Northwestern University; master's degree from Kobe University, Japan; Master of Business Administration from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France; and doctorate from Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University, Canada.
Tangpong earned a bachelor's degree at Prince of Songkhla University, Thailand; and a Master of Business Administration and doctorate from Southern Illinois University.
