NDSU is scheduled to host a science symposium with Kagoshima University, Japan, on Oct. 15-16. The symposium will focus on biotechnology, nanomaterials and polymers.
The symposium is the result of a memorandum of understanding between the institutions signed in April. It called for student and faculty exchanges and proposed a symposium on material science that would alternate between the universities.
The first symposium is expected to bring five Kagoshima University faculty and 13 graduate students to NDSU.
During the symposium, 18 oral presentations and a two-hour poster session featuring undergraduate and graduate student work from both universities are scheduled.
