Faculty member recognized for innovative use of technology

Florin Salajan, associate professor in NDSU’s School of Education, received a faculty commendatory award. The recognition is funded by the North Dakota legislature to acknowledge innovative use of technology in the classroom.
Salajan’s colleagues in the School of Education nominated him for the award. They praised his methods, such as the research he conducts to determine if his teaching practices are effective.
“Dr. Salajan is highly deserving of this award. His thoughtful and innovative use of technology in the classroom enables his students to learn more effectively and efficiently and in ways that are likely to be engaging,” said Stacy Duffield, education professor. “Because he is preparing teachers for grades kindergarten through 12, he also serves as a role-model, introducing the students to best practices for their future classrooms.”
Salajan earned his bachelor of arts degree from National University of Physical and Education Sports in Bucharest, Romania. He earned his bachelor of science and master of education degrees from Georgia College and State University and his doctorate from Columbia University.
