Paul Brown teaches management and entrepreneurship classes in NDSU’s College of Business. His students get hands-on experiences such as working with local businesses to solve real problems.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree from University of North Dakota and his MBA from NDSU.

How did you decide to pursue your profession?

I was working at a different job and came to NDSU to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree. When I finished the degree, I was asked to teach a class. It was a great experience and eventually led to me teaching full-time at NDSU.

What is the most common trait or traits of successful students?

They are goal-oriented and self-directed.

Who is a teacher who inspired you as a student and why?

Frederick Eisele and Raghu Tadepalli. They both taught in the MBA program at NDSU when I was a student. They were inspiring because of their interest and excitement in their academic areas and they sparked that interest and excitement in their students.

What's the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome as a teacher?

Being uncomfortable speaking in front of a large number of people.

Student Focused. Land Grant. Research University.
