Published February 2016

As a P3, Weber was elected by her peers nationwide to serve on the national executive committee of the American Pharmacists Association’s Academy of Students of Pharmacy.

Today, she is the president of the American Pharmacists Association’s Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management. She also serves on the NDSU Pharmacy National Advisory Board.

Major: PharmD
Graduated: 1999
Lives in: Bellevue, Nebraska
Works in: Omaha, Nebraska

What do you do at your job? I am the inpatient pharmacy supervisor at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center. I oversee the day-to-day activities of the pharmacy. I work with other pharmacy leaders and hospital leadership to advance the role of the pharmacist within our institution, precept pharmacy residents and student pharmacists, and pretty much anything else that needs to be done.

What is your career timeline? I spent the first seven years of my professional career working as a clinical pharmacist in pediatrics/neonatology and then five years as a clinical pharmacist in an emergency department. Before joining Creighton University Medical Center, I worked a year and a half for a government contractor developing educational materials for providers. I’ve been in my current position for almost three years.

I am a past director of the board of the American Pharmacists Association Foundation and am currently serving on the board of trustees for the American Pharmacists Association.

What is one of the most exciting things about your work? I have a front row seat to all of the amazing transformations taking place in the practice of pharmacy.

How have NDSU mentor(s) influenced you? Everyone within the School of Pharmacy was extremely supportive and encouraging. They instilled in me a confidence that I could do anything in the world of pharmacy that I put my mind to.

What is one of your favorite memories of NDSU? I have the fondest memories of studying at the Newman Center and attending Bison football games.

What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of? Being elected American Pharmacists Association Academy of Students of Pharmacy member-at-large when I was a third-year professional student. I was elected by my peers from all of the pharmacy schools across the country.

Since graduation, passing the Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist exam on the first try.

What advice would you give your 25-year-old self or an NDSU student studying in your field? Get involved in professional organizations early and attend the national meetings. The missed days of class are worth it.

Tell us about your family. My husband, Jason, is a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Bellevue. We have a 10-month-old daughter, Elizabeth (Ellie), who has brought absolute joy to our lives.
