NDSU graduate combines engineering, MBA degrees to reach career goals

Published June 2016

NDSU graduate Lindsay Schroeder leads a team of 400 people.

She is the plant manager at Integrity Windows and Doors in Fargo, a design and manufacturing company. The plant is powered by engineers, accountants and business experts – a good fit for NDSU graduates in these areas of study.

“I have a great team of people who work hard and want to do good things,” said Schroeder, who, like many NDSU graduates, lives and works in the area.

Schroeder earned an electrical engineering degree and then graduated with her Master of Business Administration at NDSU. It has helped lead to four promotions in the past 10 years.

She began her career at Integrity as a project manager and then developed a continuous improvement manager role. She moved on to be the director of engineering, where she helped develop new projects and processes, and completed her master’s degree. She now oversees the day-to-day operations as the plant manager.

“Lindsay's NDSU electrical engineering degree gave her a solid technical base and her MBA built upon that foundation, strengthening her strategy, business and leadership skills,” said Chris Barta, director of operations at Integrity. “This education has helped her be successful in every position throughout her career.”

Schroeder’s experiences at NDSU helped shape her into a leader who facilitates business needs while keeping her coworkers top of mind. Her day is spent building relationships and making strategic decisions tied to the performance of the plant.

“My NDSU education set a foundation for my future and I appreciate the opportunities it has given me to grow my career,” said Schroeder.
