Nathan Kurtti, who received his Bachelor of Science degree in English education, was selected as the class representative to speak at the event. Kurtti is from Hazen, North Dakota, and has accepted a position as a high school English teacher in Beulah, North Dakota. |

| Inaugural Giving Day raises more than $300,000 The entire NDSU community came together to raise an amazing $313,299 from 976 gifts in just 24 hours as part of our inaugural Giving Day. This incredible generosity will positively influence the lives of many students at NDSU. Thank you to everyone who helped make Giving Day a huge success. | NDSU researcher awarded $1.89 million grant for Alzheimer’s study Jagdish Singh, chair and professor of pharmaceutical sciences in the College of Health Professions, is receiving a $1.89 million grant award for an Alzheimer’s disease study. The goal of the research is to develop a new delivery system that uses neurotrophic growth factor to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s disease. The grant from the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health spans five years. read more > | Master of Public Health program passes milestone The NDSU Master of Public Health was established to educate the next generation of the public health workforce. The program already has reached a milestone in doing so. More than 100 students have matriculated into the five-year-old program. Thirty-five students have graduated from it.
