Animal sciences professor named vice president of selenium research society

Caton

Joel Caton, professor of animal sciences, has been named vice president of the newly formed International Society for Selenium Research. He will serve in that position for the next two years.

The society was launched at the 3rd International Conference on Selenium in the Environment and Human Health, which Caton attended on Nov. 10-16 in Hefei, China. The event brought together participants from 26 countries. Caton served on the international steering committee.

At the event, Caton gave an invited presentation and cowrote a second invited paper with collaborators. The invited papers also were published as invited book chapters in “Selenium in the Environment and Human Health.”

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
