Assistant professor recognized by Society for Range Management

Ryan Limb, assistant professor in the NDSU School of Natural Resource Sciences, received the Outstanding Young Range Professional Award from the Society of Range Management. Limb was recognized during the organization's annual meeting Jan. 31-Feb. 6 in Sacramento, California.

The award requires membership in the society and recognizes superior performance and leadership potential in range-related areas. Nominees are under the age of 40.

Limb earned a bachelor's degree from Montana State University, a master's degree in animal and range sciences from NDSU and a doctorate in natural resource ecology and management from Oklahoma State University.

His research interests include the ecology of fire, plant communities, grassland disturbances and restoration, and invasive species and management.

The Society for Range Management is the professional scientific society and conservation organization. Established in 1948, the society has more than 4,000 members in 48 countries.
