Students searching for a group workspace now have 24/7 access to collaboration stations in the Quentin Burdick Building.

Each of the six collaboration stations on the second floor of the building offer a large display monitor mounted on a table, with space for four to five students. The display monitor connects to a computer at the station. Students also can connect a personal laptop to the display monitor. The collaboration stations print to the QBB 150 lab located on the first floor. Electrical outlets are mounted on tabletops so students can recharge their electronic devices.

No reservations are necessary to use the collaboration stations.

For Hunter Heyerman, Kaitlin Kelly and Will Boehmer, the collaboration stations serve as a convenient meeting spot for a group proposal assignment. The three juniors have met several times in the space while working on their group project for an upper-level writing course.

“We can all see the report and discuss what is being done, instead of all of us huddling around one computer or small laptop,” explained Kelly, a biological sciences education student. Boehmer, an agricultural and biosystems engineering student, said he and a lab partner in another class use the collaboration stations to write lab reports.

The Quentin Burdick Building is open to students 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Students must use their Bison Card to enter after 10 p.m.
