Little black dress exhibit featured at NDSU

A new exhibit, "Celebrating the Little Black Dress," is on display at NDSU. The Emily Reynolds Historic Costume Collection is featuring dresses from 1940 to the 1960s.

The little black dress has been around since 1926, when designer Coco Chanel’s simple calf-length black dress, decorated with a single strand of pearls, was featured in Vogue. The magazine correctly predicted that the versatile dress would be a staple for women.

The exhibit will be on display through May 13 and is located in the window gallery of room 414 of the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Family Life Center. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
