A variety of conferences, camps and orientation sessions will make it another busy summer on the NDSU campus, according to Deanne Sperling, conference coordinator.

A total of 64 events are planned for the summer. Ranging in size from 12 to 1,500 participants, the activities will keep the campus bustling.

“For many departments, summer is a really busy time and a great opportunity to work with guests from all over the region,” Sperling said. “When it comes to high school participants, we believe satisfied students are more likely to consider NDSU to pursue their education. Good summer experiences can translate to loyalty, familiarity and connectedness to NDSU. Conference Programs appreciates everyone’s efforts to make NDSU a place where guests are welcomed.”

Summer events begin May 28 with the Research Experience for Undergraduates, which anticipates 12 students working in campus laboratories.

Some major summer events include:

• The North Dakota Governor’s Schools, with 110 students, open June 5 and continue through July 15.

• The annual North Dakota state FFA convention will draw about 1,350 participants June 6-10.

• The summer camp for Nurturing American Tribal Undergraduate Research and Education, known as N.A.T.U.R.E., runs June 6-17.
