Doctoral student named to Phi Kappa Phi Council of Students

Pharmaceutical sciences doctoral student Amreen Mughal of Madhya Pradesh, India, has been named to Phi Kappa Phi's Council of Students. The council, comprised of five student vice presidents from chapters across the nation, will serve as the student engagement committee for the honor society.

Mughal was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi in 2014. She will serve a two-year term on the council during the 2016-18 biennium.

The council was established in 2007 to enhance communication with student vice presidents, plan and host a student leadership conference and interact with student vice presidents in the society's five regions.

Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Approximately 30,000 members are inducted annually. The society has chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines.
