Chemistry and biochemistry alumna and faculty publish research

Chemistry and biochemistry alumna Jing Zhang and Pinjing Zhao, NDSU associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, recently published a paper, titled "A decarboxylative approach for regioselective hydroarylation of alkynes," in Nature Chemistry. The monthly journal is published by the Nature Publishing Group and covers all aspects of chemistry.

Zhang graduated from NDSU with a doctorate in chemistry in 2015. She received the NDSU Graduate School Research Award and ND EPSCoR Doctoral Dissertation Assistantship.

Zhao earned his bachelor’s degree from Peking University in China and doctorate from Cornell University. His research focuses on the rational development of transition metal-based catalytic methods for chemical synthesis.
