NDSU Advance FORWARD to celebrate anniversary

NDSU’s Advance FORWARD project is set to recognize eight years of accomplishments and change at a celebration, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Room.

Advance forward, which began with a National Science Foundation Institutional Transformation grant in 2008, is committed to several specific goals:

• Improve the climate across the campus and narrow the gap between men's and women's perceptions of the campus climate

• Employ targeted recruiting strategies to recruit women faculty;

• Retain more women faculty through their probationary period and the promotion/tenure process

• Support women associate professors as they move to full professor, and hire advanced rank women to build a critical mass

Promote and hire women faculty into academic leadership positions

External funding for the project ended July 31, but the work continues. During the celebration, the project will acknowledge its contributors and participants.

Refreshments will be served. To ensure accurate seating and food arrangements, register online.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
