Several students from the NDSU Challey School of Music received awards in the Minnesota National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions held Nov. 4-5 at St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota. The competition attracted 217 singers.

NDSU vocal students placing in the event included:

• Tessa Hartl, third place, sophomore women

• Karly Ritland, second place, junior women

• Cole Sherwood, second place, senior men

• Tyrie Williams, third place, senior men

• Anna Tescher, first place, graduate division

NDSU vocal semifinalists included Tyler Berg, Jacee Engels and Danica McDonald. NDSU piano accompanists at the event were Carson Covey, Bernadette Fromherz, Benton Schmidt, Hannah Swanson and Victoria Wright.
