Chess tournament set for NDSU

Rated chess is returning to Fargo. The NDSU Chess Club is set to host the 2016 Bison Open, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Memorial Union Prairie Rose room. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is open to the public.

The competition will include sections for both U.S. Chess Federation-rated players and unrated casual or beginning players. There will be four rounds for rated players and five rounds for unrated players.

Entry fees are $25 for adult rated players, $20 for adult unrated players and $15 for students. Prizes will be based on the number of entrants.
