NDSU is offering a new website to help students get fully immersed in the university experience. MyNDSU helps students find organizations, find out about events on campus or in the area and they can track their involvement by recording their activities and memberships.

In addition to the latest news, MyNDSU features links to Blackboard, Campus Connection, NDSU email and the NDSU website. It also includes a search function for events, organizations or news articles.

“It is a great way for student organizations to organize their members, as well as advertise their group and events to all of campus,” said Lauren McNaughton, executive commissioner of the Congress of Student Organizations. “Students will find a plethora of resources on MyNDSU. Not only does every organization have their own page, but these pages can have private and public information based on your membership in the organization and organizations can make events private or public. Each page has the capability to have a photo gallery, as well as forms for organizations to use.”

McNaughton also considers MyNDSU as a tool for organizations to reach out to potential students and alumni.

“I really enjoy that the MyNDSU site is accessible to everyone, student or not,” she said. “I think organizations are a large part of how students decide on a college to attend. This software will greatly impact how we advertise resources to potential students.”

According to Kim Bruemmer, assistant director for campus activities, the idea started when a group of individuals from across campus reviewed options for an online communication system that could help students engage with the campus experience. The group decided CollegiateLink through Campus Labs was the best option for NDSU.

A proposal was submitted to the Impact Review Committee. “The group liked what they heard and granted us a $53,000 impact grant to launch the platform on our campus,” Bruemmer explained. “After we received the grant, Campus Labs rebranded the software to be called Engage, and at NDSU we are branding the platform as MyNDSU. The goal of MyNDSU is to create a way for both student organizations and departments to reach out to more students on campus.”
