Students in the NDSU Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering are preparing for the 70th Agricultural Technology Exposition, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering building.

The public is invited.

During the expo, students in the agricultural and biosystems engineering program and agriculture system management program will present the latest agricultural technologies on the market. Senior design teams will present and demonstrate their capstone design projects. Several members of the program’s advisory board will evaluate the presentations, and those comments will be used for program assessment.

The event is designed to help students improve their communication skills and gain leadership and teamwork experience.

“This is an exciting event for our department, as our students get a chance to showcase exciting new technologies in agriculture, and everyone gets to interact with alumni and community members,” said Sreekala Bajwa, professor and chair of agricultural and biosystems engineering. “It is also an opportunity for our students to learn and prove their organizational skills, and continue an important tradition.”

All undergraduate students in the department prepare a presentation during the Ag Tech Expo at least once during their degree program to gain a required one-credit hour towards the program.

The expo concludes with a banquet in the evening, with an invited speaker and the presentation of various expo awards.
