Biological sciences tenure presentation scheduled

The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a faculty tenure presentation by Kendra Greenlee,associate professor and chair of biological sciences. Greenlee is scheduled to present “Beneficial Effects of Fluctuating Thermal Regimes: Increasing Insect Survival of Low Temperature Stress”on Friday, Aug. 31,at 3 p.m. in Loftsgard 114.

Greenlee’s laboratory conducts research on the respiratory physiology of insects. Researchers use respirometry and synchrotron x-ray imaging to study the gas exchange in developing caterpillars and immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and western blotting is used to investigate proteins involved in responses to hypoxia, infection and injury.

Greenlee earned her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Arizona State University, Tempe, and completed postdoctoral work in pulmonary disease at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
