NDSU College of Business students won several awards at the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference held March 22-23 in Bismarck, North Dakota.
NDSU students earned five first place awards and three second place awards.
Jasmin Kaempfer, chapter president and senior majoring in marketing and global business, received first place in Marketing Concepts and second place in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. Kaempfer was honored as an NDSU Who’s Who Award recipient and was recognized for her completion of the Director level of the Career and Membership Achievement Program.
Casondra Rutschke, graduate student in business administration, received first place and a cash prize in Administrative Technology, first place in Business Communications and second place in Job Interview. She was honored as a State Officer Who's Who Award recipient and North Dakota Who's Who Award recipient.
Katelin Teegarden, a senior majoring in accounting, received first place in Accounting Principles and second place in Business Law. She also was recognized for her completion of the director level of the Career and Membership Achievement Program.
Hunter Pogatchnik, a senior majoring in marketing, received first place and a cash prize in Entrepreneurship Concepts.
Tate Russel, senior in management, was unable to attend but was honored as an NDSU Who's Who Award recipient and for his completion of the director level of the Career and Membership Achievement Program.
Allie Giesler, a sophomore majoring in accounting, and Lindsey Narum, a junior majoring in marketing, were also unable to attend but were honored for their completion of the director level of the Career and Membership Achievement Program.
“NDSU students were able to network with students from across the region, build a portfolio of documented accomplishments and utilize their skills gained in the classroom in real life scenarios,” Rutschke said.
PBL Chapter Adviser Andrea Smith, business law lecturer, was recognized as the North Dakota PBL Outstanding Local Chapter Adviser.
The NDSU PBL Chapter was recognized as the Dorothy L. Travis Outstanding Chapter. The chapter was also acknowledged as a gold level PBL chapter, received the Bridging the Gap Award, placed first for their Local Chapter Annual Business Report and was awarded Largest Percentage of Retention in Local Chapter Membership.
