Staff Senate scholarship applications are available

The NDSU Staff Senate is offering scholarships to eligible NDSU broadbanded staff and their children. The application deadline is Monday, April 5.

The $100 Broadbanded Staff Senate Scholarship is open to applicants who have finished a full year of employment by the application deadline. Other requirements include current employment at NDSU as a broadbanded employee, have earned nine undergraduate or six graduate credits at NDSU and have a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. They currently must be enrolled at NDSU with three or more undergraduate or two graduate credits at the time of application and disbursal of the award.

The Children of Broadbanded Staff Senate Scholarship, in the amount of $500 maximum, requires applicants to have a parent who has completed one year of employment at NDSU by the application deadline and is currently a broadbanded employee at NDSU. Other requirements include earning 15 or more undergraduate credits at NDSU, a 2.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and currently enrolled in at least half-time status as an undergraduate student according to NDSU guidelines at the time of application and disbursal of the award.

The Staff Senate Scholarship Committee will select the recipients prior to 2010 fall semester. Dispersal of funds for the undergraduate student scholarship will be in equal installments at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. Disbursal for broadbanded staff will be at the beginning of fall semester.
