Pedagogical luncheon and workshop scheduled

All faculty members are invited to a pedagogical luncheon on Jan. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Room. During the luncheon, Valerie Young, internationally known workshop leader and public speaker, will present “How to Feel as Bright as Everyone Thinks You Are: Why Smart Women (and Men) Suffer from the Impostor Syndrome and What to Do About It.”

To register for the luncheon, visit  https://epayment.ndus.nodak.edu/C22800_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=49&SINGLESTORE=true.

Following the luncheon, junior faculty members are invited to a workshop on the impostor syndrome with Young, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union Hidatsa room. The workshop will provide insight and strategies for overcoming self-doubt, fears of ineptitude and dealing with constructive criticism. Register for the workshop at www.ndsu.edu/forward.

Young earned her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts where her research focused on understanding and eliminating the psychological barriers preventing women from embracing their full potential.

The Pedagogical Luncheon is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and NDSU FORWARD. The workshop is sponsored by FORWARD.
