NDSU student-athletes earn academic honors

NDSU golfers Lexi Geolat and Lucas Johnson have been named to their respective Summit League Academic All-League teams. It is the first time earning the honor for both student-athletes.

Geolat finished second on the women's team with a 79.68 stroke average, while she ranks ninth in school history with a 79.37 career stroke average. She finished sixth at the Maverick Invitational at the Creek. She is a biological sciences major.

Johnson ranked third on the men's team with a 74.72 stroke average this season. He finished his career ranked fourth in school history with a 74.57 career stroke average. Johnson led the Bison with a seventh place finish at the 2021 Summit League Championship. He is a criminal justice major.

Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs. In order to be considered for the academic all-league golf team, a student-athlete: must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); must have completed at least one full academic year (two semesters, three quarters) at the current institution; must have participated in 50 percent of their team's completed competitions.
