Assistant professor receives 2022 Outstanding Young Range Professional Award

Miranda Meehan

Miranda Meehan, assistant professor of animal sciences, recently received the Outstanding Young Professional Award at the Society for Range Management's 75th annual meeting held in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The organization presents the award to young professionals who have shown exemplary career performance in the field of range science and natural resources.

Meehan serves as the livestock environmental stewardship specialist and Extension disaster education coordinator

Kevin Sedivec, a mentor of Meehan's, said, "Miranda has done an outstanding job with Extension programming and delivery, while maintaining a high output in research and service." 

Meehan earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in animal and range sciences and doctorate in natural resource management at NDSU. Her research interests are focused on environmental stewardship and livestock-environmental interactions.
