NDSU Challey School of Music excels at state competition

NDSU’s Challey School of Music collected 24 of the available 33 awards, with 11 students winning their divisions, as it hosted the state's annual National Association of Teachers of Singing competition April 1-2.

Seventy-five students registered for the event, consisting of classical vocal and musical theatre performances. Students had to average a score of 90 or higher in the first round of singing to qualify for finals or to receive an award. Seven other institutions competed, including Bismarck State University, Black Hills State University, Concordia College, Dickinson State University, University of North Dakota, Minot State University and Valley City State University.
