NDSU alum, student honored at state nutrition and dietetics meeting

A recent NDSU graduate and current graduate student were among those honored this week at the North Dakota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ annual meeting in Bismarck, N.D.

Bridget Bullinger was named the Recognized Young Dietitian. She is the director of culinary services and clinical dietitian at St. Benedictine Health Center Campus in Dickinson, N.D. Bullinger graduated from the NDSU dietetics program in 2007.

Megan Myrdal was named the Emerging Dietitian of the Year. The award aims to identify and recognize the competencies and activities of members, regardless of their age, who are at the beginning of their dietetic careers and who have supported the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the public through demonstration of leadership in legislation, research, education, management and other areas related to the profession. Myrdal is an agent with NDSU Extension Service in Burleigh County. She also is pursuing graduate studies at NDSU.

The North Dakota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the advocate of the dietetic profession, serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well being. The annual meeting, which is being held in conjunction with the North Dakota Long-Term Care Association, continues through May 3.
