Organizations and industries are increasingly seeking managers and leaders for their creative teams. An NDSU art professor has been invited to a conference to discuss how he is filling that demand at NDSU.

Kim Bromley, professor of art in the visual arts department, had his paper, “Developing a Creative Course for Tomorrow’s Creative Leaders,” accepted for the Developing Future Creative Leaders: An Imperative for Art and Design Departments session of the 2013 Southeastern College Art Conference in Greensboro, N.C., Oct. 30-Nov. 2.

“I am developing a creativity course fostering this change, giving students the tools to compete in today’s markets,” Bromley said. “In this course, a number of tools and creative thinking strategies will be taught, including journaling, collecting, hypnosis, memory and mind mapping. Learning about these tools, studying these creative strategies and processes will give students knowledge and skills needed to become creative thinkers and leaders.”

The conference facilitates cooperation and fosters ongoing dialogue about pertinent creative, scholarly and educational issues among teachers and administrators in universities, colleges, community colleges, professional art schools and museums, and among independent artists and scholars.
