Wildland Firefighting Training

The NRM program supports the training of students to qualify as Wildland Firefighters. This is done in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy. Many jobs in natural resource management call for employees to be trained as Wildland Firefighters as part of their normal duties. The training is done online in the spring with the students required to complete a mandatory field day. Once qualified the students are listed as Type 2 Wildland Firefighters. The students can then list the training on their resumes or include the training in their application for jobs. - Dr. Jack Norland.
