Curriculum for the NDSU Accelerated Nursing Program

Students accepted into the Accelerated (Post-Baccalaureate) BSN program must have a non-nursing bachelor's degree or higher and meet the admission requirements for the School of Nursing. Program is a total of 53 credits and would take about 14 months.

Semester One (Fall, 18 credits)

  • NURS 300 Pharmacology & Pathophysiology for Nursing, 4 credits
  • NURS 303 Introduction to the Nursing Profession, 3 credits
  • NURS 323 Skills & Concepts for Nursing (lecture and lab), 4 credits
  • NURS 360 Health Assessment, (lecture and lab) 4 credits
  • NURS 420 Evidence Based Practice and Research in Nursing, 3 credits

Semester Three (Summer, 14 credits)

  • NURS 402 Mental Health Nursing (lecture and clinical), 4 credits
  • NURS 406 Community & Public Health Nursing (lecture & clinical), 4 credits
  • NURS 430 Comprehensive Adult Health (lecture & clinical), 6 credits

Semester Two (Spring, 17 credits)

  • NURS 342 Adult Health Nursing I (lecture and clinical), 5 Credits
  • NURS 352 Family Nursing I (lecture and clinical), 4 credits
  • NURS 362 Family Nursing II (lecture and clinical), 4 credits
  • NURS 463 Leadership & Interprofessional Health Care Practice, 4 credits

Semester Four (Fall, 4 credits)

  • NURS 450 Synthesis & Practicum (Lecture & 120-hour clinical practicum), 4 credits
