Direct Admission application open.

The North Dakota State University (NDSU) School of Nursing is thrilled to offer a limited enrollment option to our nursing program through a direct admission process for high school seniors!

Direct Admission Program Requirements 

Fargo site

  • Admission to NDSU as a first-time freshman pre-nursing major 
  • Complete the Direct Admission application 
  • High School GPA of 3.5 or higher 
    • High schools with no recorded GPA considered on a case by case basis

Bismarck site

  • Admission to a North Dakota University System (NDUS) College or University as a first-time freshman following a Pre-Nursing/Associate of Science program track
  • Complete the Direct Admission application 
  • High School GPA of 3.5 or higher 
    • High schools with no recorded GPA considered on a case by case basis

**Please note: NDSU’s ACT/SAT scores are not required.

The application is now open and will close December 15. Students will be notified of acceptance to the Direct Admit program by February 15.

If accepted, students will complete their first year of pre-nursing coursework during the 2025-2026 academic year. If students meet set expectations, students will start the professional nursing program August 2026 or spring of 2027. Information on required performance expectations will be provided in the acceptance letter.
