Jill Johnson, MSN, RN, faculty member of the NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health in Bismarck, North Dakota received the Inspiring Colleague Award from the NDSU Office of Teaching and Learning.
The award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond in sharing ideas and supporting others in creating effective learning environments.
Johnson’s nomination letter states, “Johnson is committed to student success and goes above and beyond in supporting other faculty in the nursing program to ensure that all faculty are offering the best in nursing education. She does this by demonstrating nursing education best practices combined with a positive attitude. Jill Johnson inspires me every day to be a better nurse educator. She is the embodiment of this award.”
Earlier this year, Johnson, assistant professor of practice, also received the Mary Berg Excellence in Teaching Award as part of the 2022 Dean's Awards of Excellence in the NDSU College of Health Professions.
During the previous award ceremony, colleague Lindsey Unterseher said: "Jill Johnson is a true innovative thinker. I'm in awe of her eagerness to provide remediation activities for students who are struggling," said Unterseher, assistant professor of practice at NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health in Bismarck. "She has a unique skill for thinking outside the box to help others come up with inventive activities. Her advice and guidance are invaluable to all she works with."
The NDSU School of Nursing provides bachelor’s and graduate nursing education at sites in Bismarck and Fargo, North Dakota. Programs are available for part- and full-time students, working professionals and those seeking online educational opportunities.
